What is CES?

CES is a one-semester English language university program held at the Piliscaba campus of Pázmány Péter Catholic University, 25 km from the Hungarian capital of Budapest in a valley of the Pilis Hills.

The objective of CES is to train prospective experts on the Central European region with a special focus on the Visegrád countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland). Particular emphasis will be placed on history, politics and culture of the 20th and 21st centuries, including the transitional and post-communist periods.

The courses will be held by outstanding Hungarian historians, literary and art historians, as well as guest lecturers from and outside Hungary. Presentations and meetings will be organized with illustrious members of political and cultural circles.

Field trips will be offered to various places of interest in and outside Hungary in the Central European region.
